Schedules

One of the interesting things about being a yoga teacher is the schedule. It's never the same twice in a row. I mean, I suppose if I had my own studio, I could regulate it a bit more but for right now it sort of comes and goes. This week has been very interesting as I added 3 private classes to my usual stuff. The challenge is staying focused. I tend to have a lot of down time in between classes where it seems futile to start anything since I won't be able to finish it. And then when I get back home, I'm usually so euphoric (I love to teach) that it takes me a while to "come down" and then it's time to go out again.

So far, this month from December 1 to now, the 21st, I have taught 21 group and private classes. Each one has been different. Now if it were one a day, that would be a different matter but it's 2, sometimes even 3 a day with weekends off. I have to say once again, Wow! What a great gift God has given me! I am amazed that it just keeps coming through, class after class, day after day. It's so important to me that yoga stay fresh, that we don't just go through the motions, that it feels new each time. I study endlessly, finding new ways of doing the poses, I mean, there really aren't that many poses to begin with but we just keep making up new ones just like the ancient yogis did. This is great. I just feel so blessed. To get paid for your passion-- is this a great country or what?

Today is my last class before Christmas. I suppose when I get home I will finally have to tackle all the stuff that I couldn't get to (or didn't want to) in the last few weeks. Time to come back to reality. I do think my Christmas gift to myself will be to go without my glasses for the next week. If I can't see the dirt..... I don't have to clean it, right?

Christmas dinner is still up in the air. Who knows which way the wind will blow? Mariah?

When you wait as long as I did to shop, the interesting thing is that nothing is scheduled to arrive til the 24th. Should make for some last minute wrapping excitement....and the 'is it going to make it on time?' drama.

Good times.

My heart and energy goes out to all the postal and fedex and ups deliverers.... It's almost done :)
