Schedules

One of the interesting things about being a yoga teacher is the schedule. It's never the same twice in a row. I mean, I suppose if I had my own studio, I could regulate it a bit more but for right now it sort of comes and goes. This week has been very interesting as I added 3 private classes to my usual stuff. The challenge is staying focused. I tend to have a lot of down time in between classes where it seems futile to start anything since I won't be able to finish it. And then when I get back home, I'm usually so euphoric (I love to teach) that it takes me a while to "come down" and then it's time to go out again.

So far, this month from December 1 to now, the 21st, I have taught 21 group and private classes. Each one has been different. Now if it were one a day, that would be a different matter but it's 2, sometimes even 3 a day with weekends off. I have to say once again, Wow! What a great gift God has given me! I am amazed that it just keeps coming through, class after class, day after day. It's so important to me that yoga stay fresh, that we don't just go through the motions, that it feels new each time. I study endlessly, finding new ways of doing the poses, I mean, there really aren't that many poses to begin with but we just keep making up new ones just like the ancient yogis did. This is great. I just feel so blessed. To get paid for your passion-- is this a great country or what?

Today is my last class before Christmas. I suppose when I get home I will finally have to tackle all the stuff that I couldn't get to (or didn't want to) in the last few weeks. Time to come back to reality. I do think my Christmas gift to myself will be to go without my glasses for the next week. If I can't see the dirt..... I don't have to clean it, right?

Christmas dinner is still up in the air. Who knows which way the wind will blow? Mariah?

When you wait as long as I did to shop, the interesting thing is that nothing is scheduled to arrive til the 24th. Should make for some last minute wrapping excitement....and the 'is it going to make it on time?' drama.

Good times.

My heart and energy goes out to all the postal and fedex and ups deliverers.... It's almost done :)

Christmas

So yesterday I was stewing about all I wasn't doing.... and then I downloaded my pictures from the last week...

We made cookies -

Rhia & Amanda make Peppermint Balls

Yep, even Cory helped!

While Barry got the front windows in on the garage renovation!

And then Carolers Came!

They asked for requests and of course, we asked for "Oh Holy Night" It was beautiful! High notes and all :)

Homestead to see the trains and get some greenery to go with what I have growing in my yard...

Which led to my Advent Wreath.

Thought Anne would get a kick out of how my Christmas party pictures turn out LOL! And I wasn't using an IPhone..... course there were Margaritas at this party.... does that explain it?
So even though there may not be any presents this year.... we are obviously celebrating Christmas.
Hope everyone likes cookies and cards.... LOL

It's December 13th.

If I get one more thing that says "Last Minute Gifts" I will scream. I haven't even bought one gift. I can't seem to wrap my mind around it. I am really enjoying the season, feel so loving and blessed. My advent wreath says it all. We watched "The Nativity Story" I love that movie. I wrote my Christmas cards. Really, what more do you want?

I've had the opportunity to do some one on one yoga with some of my students. It's wonderful. Went to a student's house yesterday. She has such a beautiful home, filled with warmth and love. We had a wonderful private class, what a treat to create a Sanctuary where ever we are. I had a class on Tuesday that ran over (WAY OVER) My husband who was with the next class had to come find us.... we had no idea time had passed. I have just really been in the present. It's marvelous cept I can't seem to think beyond today and that sometimes can bite you in the well... you know. Like Christmas morning when the kid's don't have any presents..... I don't think they will buy 'the gift is being in the present' philosophy. They'd rather have a Wii.

I'm thinking of offering a workshop for SoulCollage where we just make one card. Wouldn't it be cool to get together and have some egg nog and cookies and work on a "what the holiday season means to me?" card? No stress, no fuss.... course I'll have to look at a calendar to schedule it and that may stress me out. Realizing it's December 13th and seeing it on a calendar and how close to Christmas it really is are 2 different things. Wonder how many Sundays there are? Don't tell me.

If I count on my fingers, today being Thursday the 13th, Friday 14th, Saturday 15th, then Sunday is the 16th---Let's do it then! Please don't burst my bubble and make me add 7.... Yikes.

Tra la la la la..... Let's do a Holiday workshop this Sunday, at my house... haha haha....

Course I haven't made any egg nog or cookies.

(fingers in ears) nah nah nah, I can't hear you!

And my house is a mess. But it smells good because of the advent wreath. Cept for that juniper-- it always smells of cat pee to me.

OMG! YOU DON'T REALLY THINK IT IS CAT PEE, DO YOU?

Tra la la la la.... of course not! It's Juniper, dammit!

RSVP when you get a chance.....
